“Juice”, an unaccomplished but aspiring writer, has decided to compete in a national story competition. Lacking both the core grammar fundamentals and creativity needed to pull off an upset victory, he turns to his surroundings for inspiration. One diner in particular churns up a slew of literary surprises, and “Juice” is finally in the right position to make a bold move. A championship run. But will it be enough to win the competition, let alone complete the short story without making a complete mockery of himself?
Jack Quindlestubb, along with a group of shady friends, was hoping to have a relaxing night of eating pizza and watching television. But Jack has made many enemies over the course of his life. Perhaps the worst enemy of all is himself; and the narrator. Jack finds himself strung up in the crossfire of his own story, and his unique ability to communicate with the story’s narrator, Quinton Gormuck, could be his final undoing. And Quinton is not the only enemy, or narrator, that is after Jack. Will his flagrant past, teamed with its narrative, be enough to force him into changing his ways?
It's the 6th grade and Toto finds a golden opportunity to bypass Little League Baseball. A league that he finds himself too good for. But his ability alone will not be enough to cast his baseball career to the next level. Under some unique circumstances, Toto will command control of that championship outcome, or more importantly, how good he looks in the big game. Because a top-notch performance just might be enough to win high evaluations from the spectators in the stands that matter most. The scouts. But he did not realize this would be the final time he played baseball. Nor did he understand why.
Toto is back again for a stupendous finale to his summer vacation, prior to the 6th grade. His lifelong plans of spending Labor Day Weekend on the river are finally becoming a reality. But the town that borders those waters has an insidious past, and it is more than what just one 6th grader is prepared for alone. Toto’s reluctant girlfriend joins in on the adventure to uncover the mysteries that have haunted the river water for over a decade. They hope to find out what really happened on that Labor Day night, ten years prior. Or is it all just sophomoric folklore?
